BAPTISM DAY - By Stephanie Lee

I remember when I got baptized.  I was 8 years old.  We lived 45 minutes away from the building where I was to be baptized.  I had the opportunity to be interviewed by the Bishop before my baptism to make sure I understood the covenants I was making and the significant of being baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

I was dressed in my best dress and we had a beautiful program before the baptism.  My sister and I had the opportunity to sing and there were a couple of talks, then we proceeded to the baptismal font.

I had changed into a white baptismal outfit.  Then, I was baptized by immersion by my father.  When I came out of the water, I felt new and clean-cleaner than I had ever felt and so happy.  It's amazing that at such a young age, I could have understood those feelings and the significance of what was going on, but I did.

After that, I was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was given the gift of the Holy Ghost, so as long as I keep the commandments I can always have the spirit to be with me.

This month, I had the opportunity to sing a song at two 8 year olds baptism.  They're twins.  They're SO CUTE and the baptism was beautiful.  This is a song I wrote called, "Baptism Day".

Here is a picture of me with them. :)
