Am I nervous? Yes. Am I worried about getting people angry? Yes. Do I still feel like it's the right thing?? ABSOLUTELY.
All of you who know me, know I HATE contention and am the last one to cause it. I've got a tender heart and hate to hurt anyone's feelings.
About a month and a half ago, I had this song come to me. Throughout the month, I've had phrases replace some of my original ones to make the wording "stronger." I think about this song daily and can't get it out of my mind. I truly believe it's because it's something I need to SAY.
The song I've written is called, "Don't Try To Take Our Guns." While this song talks about gun rights, the song is mostly about freedom in genera. I am hoping that the words of this song will help us realize there are MORE OF US OUT HERE that all feel the same way. We love our country. We love our freedom. We love the word of God. We value the fact that we can still defend ourselves and think for ourselves.
I have just started my crowdfunding campaign for this song. Usually before I even announce my songs, I get a couple donations - but I haven't gotten one yet. Maybe it makes some of you nervous too? BUT... if you feel the way I do - please donate and help me record this song. If everyone donated $1, we would get there!
I've thought about some amazing rewards. One of them, which I thought was super cool, is that everyone who donates will, if they choose, have their name placed on the back of my t-shirts for this song. Kind of like our "Title of Liberty."
